Changes to BIBIC Outreach Therapy Service

Dear All,

 I am writing with some unfortunate news about our Outreach Therapy Service which has provided home visits, free of charge, for the last 3 years.

 This part of our service will be closing on Friday August 23rd, because we have been unable to secure sufficient funding to make the operation financially viable.  However BIBIC Therapy will continue in the following form;

 -we will still be able to visit families at home in the following postcodes around the Bristol area

BS1, BS2, BS3, BS4, BS5, BS6, BS7, BS8, BS9, BS10, BS11, BS13, BS14, BS15, BS16, BS20, BS21, BS22, BS23, BS24, BS25, BS29, BS30, BS31, BS32, BS34, BS35, BS36, BS37, BS39, BS40, BS41, BS48, BS49

 -we will be able to see all other families too (from anywhere in the country), but at our National Assessment Centre at Knowle Hall in Somerset

 -however both will incur a charge

 -and in contract to how the Outreach Service used to operate, the service will be based on 2-Day Assessments (we can discuss the possibility of 1-Day Assessments too), on consecutive days

 We really do appreciate that this may cause difficulty to some families and referral agents, and we may be able to help with some of those.  Please continue to make contact with us to discuss any service you or a family might need, and we’ll do our best to advise and assist you with any such difficulties, and explain what we can do to help with the cost.

 Despite this change we aim to see the same families from the same localities, and want to do everything we can to make that possible.  Soon we will be contacting each individual family that we have provided a service to, explain this change to them, answer any questions they have, and to see what we can to arrange future services for them either at home or at our Assessment Centre.

As for agencies that work with us and make referrals into our service, we can visit those to explain the change, and to talk about the assistance we can give families to help them continue using it.

 Our website (www.bibic.org.uk) has details of all our current services and charges, and there is a link (on the About Us page) where you can submit an enquiry about a child which we’ll respond to urgently.  Alternatively you can phone on 01278 684060 and ask for Linda Cunnington (Family Services Co-Ordinator) or Jon Shoesmith (Family Services Manager).

 Thanks for your understanding, and please do keep in touch with us.
