Walk a Mile in my Shoes

The count-down begins, with just over 2 weeks to go until ‘Walk a Mile in my Shoes’ now in it’s third year, it’s a fantastic family fun day and carer awareness event, with activities for children and adults.

This year it will be the biggest carer awareness event in the South West of England and will be taking place in the beautiful surroundings of Pittville Park and Pump Rooms, Cheltenham on Sunday 7th June 2015. ‘Walk a mile in my shoes’ will see people from across the county swapping footwear with their sons, daughters, husbands, friends, neighbours or even a complete stranger to walk a mile around the Park to launch national Carers Week.

Thanks to grants from the Barnwood Trust and the Freemasons, this year Carers Gloucestershire will be offering a whole afternoon of free entertainment and activities for all carers and the local community once the walk is complete.

Browse the multitude of Craft Stalls, bounce on the inflatables and get your face painted and enjoy hot food from the Wiggly Worm charity, with refreshments and cake available from the tea tent.

This is a free event and everyone is welcome, but we really want you to ‘Swap Shoes’ and take part in our sponsored walk to raise much needed funds for local carers. Registration for the walk is £10 which includes your  ‘Walk a mile in my Shoes 2015’ t-shirt and goody bag. (Under 16s can register for free.)
